A woman measures a man's chest while shopping in a clothing store, surrounded by racks of apparel and shoppers in the background.

Devona Dixon, a professor in the fashion merchandising and design program within the college, measures a student during the JCPenney SUIT UP! event. The event is designed to prepare students for the spring job hunt and interviews.

Family and Consumer Sciences students from the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences helped N.C. A&T students get the perfect fit at the NC A&T x JCPenney SUIT UP on Feb. 10. Using soft measuring tapes, they measured fellow students to help them determine the right clothing size.

The event, sponsored by the Office of Career Services, included discounts on clothing bought from 5 -8 p.m. at the store at the Four Seasons Town Centre. The event is held in the spring and fall semesters to encourage students to dress for success as they hunt for jobs and internships.

Amarion Singletary, who is studying Agriculture Education, was among the students who came to the event, which included a DJ and raffles for prizes.

“What brought me out today was the deals and the opportunity to improve my professional wardrobe,” Singletary said.
