Wal-Mart grant to help connect students, agriculture jobs

North Carolina A&T’s College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences will lead a project to develop innovative models for non-degree pathways that can help more people learn skills that will lead to employment in food, agriculture and related fields.
The presidents and chancellors of the nation’s 1890 Universities are celebrating the 130th anniversary of the federal legislation that designated them as land-grant institutions. The Morrill Act of 1890 established a land-grant university system of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in states where African Americans were banned from accessing a public higher education.
Misty Blue-Terry, Ph.D., has been named as Cooperative Extension at N.C. A&T’s new assistant administrator for Youth, Families and Communities. She will begin the position this month.
