Dear CAES community, I hope you are well and taking all reasonable precautions to protect yourselves and others during these unprecedented times. The past few weeks have transformed our campus. Classes and labs no longer meet face to face, employees are working remotely when possible, residential students have gone home and commencement has been postponed.

CAES’s 2025-26 Student Senators are (left to right): Mantrell Goodrum II, Xanaa Myers, Kennedy Parker, Jaileea Knight and K’la Green. Student senators act as a liaison between students and the administration. They also plan events, support student organizations, and work on initiatives to improve students’ experiences.

Salam A. Ibrahim, Ph.D., is passionate about food science. In his 21 years as a professor in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, Ibrahim’s contributions have ranged from ground-breaking research to improve the quality, shelf-life and safety of dairy food products, to helping the food industry solve problems related to packaging and transportation.

N.C. A&T and Southeastern Community College have partnered on a “2 Plus 2 Agreement” that will guarantee SCC agribusiness graduates enrollment with the university. SCC President Chris English (left) and CAES Associate Dean Antoine Alston, Ph.D. signed the agreement earlier this month.
