Poultry Foundation donation will fund student experiential learning

The Department of Animal Sciences has received a $6,820 donation from the US Poultry & Egg Harold E. Ford Foundation.

The funds will allow a group of animal science majors to attend the International Production & Processing EXPO (IPPE) in Atlanta in January.

The foundation supports the Department of Animal Science with funds earmarked for experiential learning each year, in addition to other donations.

“US Poultry & Egg has awarded funds to our poultry program to aid in recruiting and retention efforts, and to train and educate students for advancement in the poultry industry,” said Tracy Hanner, professor and chair of the animal sciences department.
