Kim Davis, Director of Development

Greetings, CAES Family:

My name is Kim Davis and it is my profound honor to introduce myself as the new Director of Development for the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences at N.C. A&T. I am a native of North Carolina and spent many summers as a child on our family farm in Halifax County, so I know first-hand how important agriculture is to our state. Agriculture is the state’s largest industry and is essential to the well-being of communities from the mountains to the sea.

I am grateful to Dean Ahmedna, Dr. Alston, Dr. Hymon-Parker, Dr. Dale, and others for their support and wisdom as I step into this new role. I am enthusiastic about working with our advisory board, alumni, students, and corporate and community partners to engage and spread awareness of the exciting research and programming happening within the College.

As I reflect on the past 18 months and how our country has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the admiration I have for the industries supported by our college’s research and outreach has grown tremendously. Regardless of what is happening in the world, we all need food, clothing, and a safe environment.

Like our researchers, our Cooperative Extension professionals rose to the challenge of the pandemic, finding new ways to assist the state’s small-scale farmers and the most vulnerable individuals, families and communities. Extension programs became virtual, and volunteers, staff, 4-H youth and community organizations came together to serve in new ways.

To our corporate partners, thank you. We could not do all of this amazing research and programming without you. We look forward to continued and future partnerships, as the opportunities for research, development, scholarships, and other programs are plentiful within the College of Agriculture and Environment Sciences.

Again, I am extremely honored to be a part of this CAES family. I am excited to have a chance to work with amazing teammates, who like myself, consider themselves to be “Agents of Change” towards continued growth within not only our college and students but our community. I look forward to engaging with all of you as I transition further into this role.

With Aggie Pride,

Kim Davis
