Farm Invites Legislators, Partners To Get Hands Dirty

Legislators and the group gather to hear Omon Isikhuemehen, Ph.D., explain his research on growing truffles on lobolly pine trees.

The N.C. A&T University Farm hosted a group of N.C. legislators and visitors from the N.C. Dept. of Agriculture & Consumer Services, N.C. Farm Bureau, N.C. State University and others to experience the CAES’s truffle, ginger and high-tunnel produce research firsthand – by getting dirty.

Guochen Yang, Ph.D. explains his ginger research to Reps. Kamika Brown, who represents Forsyth County, and Ray Jeffers, who represents Person and Durham Counties.
