The event was title sponsored by Syngenta.

Food, face painting, games and farm animals were on display at Truist Stadium during this year’s second annual Agriculture and Environmental Sciences Day.

The tailgate event, held during North Carolina A&T’s football game against the University of Richmond on Oct. 21, is part of an awareness campaign built to highlight, raise funds, and celebrate CAES’ contributions to the university. This event coincides with the Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Awareness Day held at the University Farm Pavilion on Oct. 5.

"This year represents our second annual Agriculture and Environmental Sciences Day for the college,” said Antoine Alston, Ph.D., associate dean of academics. “We are thankful for our title sponsor, Syngenta, our additional sponsors - N.C. Farm Bureau, Farm Credit Council, John Deere, and North Carolina's Electric Cooperatives - and our donors in helping this event come together to spread awareness of the college and its exceptional departments to an audience on and off-campus."

Held before kickoff at the stadium, students, faculty, staff and game-day regulars were treated to a variety of festivities, including DJ music; fried fish, hamburgers and hot dogs; a display of animals from the University Farm, face painting and arcade games. Additionally, title sponsor Syngenta was on site to discuss the company’s ongoing operations and offer merchandise to visitors.

"Syngenta's offices in Greensboro have had a great, continued partnership with North Carolina A&T, and this event during A&T's football game is an example of such,” said Carroll Moseley, Ph.D., head of State Regulatory Affairs at Syngenta. “The College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences has produced outstanding students both academically and in the work field over the years, and Ag Day has provided the perfect opportunity to highlight the CAES to those familiar and unfamiliar with the college. We are proud to have sponsored the event and look forward to another Ag Day in 2024."
