CAES students LaโNeesa Holmes-Cobb and Courtney Richard won first and second place, respectively, for their poster presentations at the universityโs Undergraduate Research Symposium on Oct. 19.
Holmes-Cobb, a senior majoring in Laboratory Animal Science, presented โComparison of Immunoglobulin M and Degranulated Neutrophil Levels in the Serum and Lung Lavage of Indoor and Outdoor Reared Pigs.โ Dr. Jenora Waterman, associate professor in the Department of Animal Science, mentored Holmes-Cobb.
Courtney Richard, a junior majoring in Food and Nutritional Sciences, presented โDeveloping an Optimal Condition for Brewing Onion Peel Tea Using Response Surface Methodology.โ Dr. Hye Won Kang, assistant research professor in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, mentored Richard, who is a participant in the CAESย Undergraduate Research Scholars Program. The URSP provides qualified juniors and seniors a thorough grounding in โreal worldโ research methods.
