Cooperative Extension agents, community organizations, educators, and researchers came together this spring to collaborate on innovative solutions that strengthen and empower communities through effective family and consumer sciences programs.

The participants also played games and had some fun during their time at the University Farm Pavilion, participating in training sessions ion such topics as nutrition education, healthy aging, playful fitness, financial literacy, youth fitness, and mental health awareness as part of the Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Institute.

"By combining our efforts and expertise, we can create impactful programs that truly empower our communities," said Shewana McSwain, Extension associate at Cooperative Extension at North Carolina A&T University and one of the Institute organizers. "Our goal is to harness the power of collaboration to address the unique challenges families face today, ensuring their well-being and resilience."
