Extending a Hand Across the State

Twenty N.C. A&T Cooperative Extension interns received their assignments and spread out across the state to learn, teach and help Extension’s county offices in both the Family & Consumer Sciences and Agriculture and Natural Resources areas for six weeks. 2025 Extension interns are, left to right (front), Daniel Harmon, Anna Aikman, Autumn Davis, Amina Smallwood, Reykiyah Bobbitt, Jaileea Knight, Tuqura Lennon, Addison Bonner, Deion Phillips, Jordan Forbis, Camryn Ross, Arcanae Clark, Caitlin Saunders, Gabriella Haddock, and Louis Adams. Shewana McSwain, coordinator of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-ED) and the Interim coordinator for the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP), both in Cooperative Extension, has won the Excellence in Extension Award in the Family and Consumer Sciences category at the Program Leaders Network Conference in Orlando Florida.

Animal Sciences major Milosh McAdoo found his field this summer

Sophomore Milosh McAdoo knows his summer internship was unusual – partly because he got to have one. In a year in which many students’ summer plans were delayed or cancelled outright, McAdoo was able to intern with the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services by working partly in person, partly remotely.
