Making a Way with the EPA

Lara Phelps, director of the U.S. EPA’s Air Methods and Characterization Division (AMCD), speaks to officials at N.C. A&T State University's Farm Pavilion recently during a work group meeting to determine possible collaborative research opportunities between the university and the Environmental Protection Agency. Phelps outlined some avenues for a possible future Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

The EPA is currently led by college alumnus Michael Regan ‘98, whose professor mentor, Godfrey Uzochukwu, Ph.D., is also a part of the work group.

New 1890 Center of Excellence growing the next generation of diverse food, agriculture and natural resources professionals

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture has awarded a $1.2 million grant to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and seven 1890 consortium partners to help improve the recruitment, retention and graduation of diverse students in the food, agriculture, natural resources and human (FANH) sciences.
