The Student Perspective: Landscape Architecture Students Help Aggie Academy Celebrate Earth Day

Aggie Academy students celebrate Earth Day with environmentally friendly projects.

Landscape architecture students volunteered to help third, fourth and fifth graders at Aggie Academy celebrate Earth Day on April 23 by building Pop Bottle Ecosystems, decorating a Sticky Wall, and planting flowers.

The purpose was to raise awareness about Earth Day and the importance of protecting and preserving the environment.

More than 60 students and 18 volunteers, six of whom were landscape architect students, participated in the event, which was organized by three of N.C. A&T’s Strada Scholars: Jacob Thornton (landscape architecture), Makayla Smith (kinesiology), and Grace Walker (business IT.)

The event was successful! We look forward to doing it again next year.
